No Bridges and Cobalt Blue

So excited!  We are going on the outside instead of the intercostal from Ft Lauderdale to Lake Worth, Florida.  As you remember, there are an excruciating 22 bridges on this stretch. On the way down I thought Jon was going to have an anierism or I was going to kill him.  So we opt for outside along the coast about a mile and half out. The first thing you notice as you get into about 400 + feet of water is the color of the water. It is no longer that teal but a cobalt blue. Then you notice, you can't see the end of the stretch of beaches. Just beautiful. We couldn't stop looking at the water. Remember some tv shows and movies where the water was that color and you thought it wasn't real?! Well it is. We had a great day with winds from the west at 5-10 knots then switching east at 5 to 10. We motor sailed the whole way.  One of the most interesting and fun things that happened was when Jon noticed the water jumping and skipping just a head of us. As we watched closer we realized it was flying fish. They really look like little birds flying. They fly about 30 yards. They just make you smile and giggle because there are so many of them flying off all at once. Most of the time it was away from us but a few times I saw them flying toward us. So wild!  Just like birds.

We are traveling with our friends, Ladd and Denise on the boat, Blue. U We left a full hour ahead of them but they caught up to us several miles outside the Lake Worth Inlet. We settled in our anchorage about 5pm and watch as twilight approached. (That's because we felt it was ok to go to bed if it was dark  haha). We are finally sleeping as our new mattress seems like home. We are up at 7 am and on our way to Jensen Beach via the intercostal.  Should be an early day and only seven opening bridges. (Side note: the hot water tank and coolant reservoir are holding water. Jon just had to tighten one hose this morning).

Love bug came to visit. Colors are beautiful

      LOOK AT THAT WATER!!

          Blue catching up to us

Ship we saw outside of Lake Worth Inlet. Notice the catamaran and momohull ready to be shipped or delivered.  The ship was pitching and as you can see hardly any ways or wind.

Had to google pictures and info on the fish we saw.  These are them.

We could get our own pics.  Looked just like this, but a lot more at the same time.

Blue ahead of us going in the inlet. (Trying to be creative with the color).

Peanut Island (back to normal color)

Time for bed...nightfall on Lake Worth

             Arise and shine!!

Ready to pull up anchor , Blue in the background.
