No See-ums Harbour

Didn't learn my lesson. We anchored for three days in No Name Harbour. I was a very good meal for the no see-ums. They never bother Jon or anyone else for that matter. We we're rafted up with our friends Benny and Lisa with their boat, Rhiannon after motor-sailing from Rodriquez Key.  I even used cedar oil spray because we heard they don't like it. It worked most of the night..but would wear off..reapply..no moths bothered me though.

No Name Harbor is about a mile from Dinner Key (some know it as Coconut Grove in Miami). We had a spent next couple of days exploring Bill Baggs State Park and waiting the waiting out a few thunderstorms. The beach is beautiful and the trails really nice to walk..I did see a very big cat on the trail about 50 yards ahead of us.  It ran off and I'm glad because it didn't look like a house cat to me. On the more enjoyable side, we did see a lot of very different colored butterflies and lots of iguanas. The light house was closed but from all the informational stations we learned an interesting fact that it was part of the Underground Railroad. In the early 1820's some 300 slaves were helped to the Bahamas via 27 sloops and many dugout canoes.   Really interesting.

Beautiful area to watch the clouds..dolphin liked this Harbour too. We'd watch them in the mornings.

Lisa all dressed up. Their boat Rhiannon in the back ground.

Dominican beer..muy buena!!

Benny and Lisa at Light House Cafe. Jon had a Cuban sandwich.  Buena, but not as good as Tommy's (Jon boss at Maugeri's)

 So pretty!

The nature trail where we saw the big cat.

The foreground is the Atlantic and the water in the back ground is Biscayne Bay
